Constraint Actuator: Force Field

Force Field Constraint:
  • Creates a buffer zone along one axis of the game object
     
  • Buffer zone is flexible like a spring
     
  • Distance is measured from the object center of the game object
Constraints Mode:
  • Force Field Constraint
Damping:
  • Damping factor of the force field's buffer zone
     
  • Range:
    • 0.00 to 1.00
       
    • 0.00 setting: force field is like a trampoline
       
    • 1.00 setting: force field is like a rock wall
Distance:
  • Depth of the force field
     
  • Range:
    • 0.01 to 2000.00
  • Distance is measured from the object center of the game object
Rot Fh:
  • Enabled:
    • Keeps the game object axis parallel to the mesh surface normal of the colliding object
  • Disabled:
    • Game object orientation doesn't change when it collides with another game object
Direction:
  • Game object axis direction that is used to create the force field
     
  • Game object axis:
    • None: No force field
       
    • X axis
       
    • Y axis
       
    • Z axis
       
    • -X axis
       
    • -Y axis
       
    • -Z axis
Force:
  • Amount of spring force in the force field
     
  • Range:
    • 0.00 to 1.00
N:
  • Enabled: 
    • The spring force is parallel to the mesh surface normal of the colliding object
  • Disabled:
    • The spring force is parallel to the selected game object axis used to create the force field
M/P:
  • Material/Property toggle
     
  • Material:
    • Material on another Game Object that will trigger the Force Field Constraint
  • Property:
    • Property on another Game Object that will trigger the Force Field Constraint
Material/Property Name:
  • Name of Material/Property that will trigger the Distance Constraint
     
  • Leave blank for all materials/properties to trigger Distance Constraint
PER:
  • Enabled:
    • Force Field Constraint actuator stays active even if the ray doesn't touch a target
  • Disabled:
    • Force Field Constraint actuator becomes inactive if the ray doesn't touch a target
Time:
  • Maximum amount of the time (frames) that you want the Force Field Constraint Actuator to be active
     
  • Used with PER toggle
     
  • Range:
    • 0 to 1000
  • 0 = always active
RotDamp:
  • Use a different damping for the rotation
     
  • Range:
    • 0 to 100
Note:
  • To create a force field on more than one axis use another Constraint Actuator

  • Actuator name
Pin:
  • Enabled: 
    • Always display the Actuator
  • Disabled: 
    • Only display when the State Mask group the Actuator is linked to is being displayed
Checkbox:
  • Enabled:
    • Actuator is turned on
  • Disabled:
    • Actuator is turned off
Note:
  • Actuators can be connected to more than one controller
     
  • Actuators connected to a controller(s) belong to the same State Mask group(s) as the controller(s)
