Constraint Actuator: Orientation

Orientation Constraint:
  • Constrains the orientation of a Game Object axis to a World vector
     
  • The orientation constraint forces the selected axis of the game object to point in a direction of a vector in World coordinates
Constraints Mode:
  • Orientation Constraint
Direction:
  • Game object axis direction to be constrained to the selected World vector
    • None = Don't constrain the orientation of the game object
       
    • X axis = Constrain game object X axis to the selected World vector
       
    • Y axis = Constrain game object Y axis to the selected World vector
       
    • Z axis = Constrain game object Z axis to the selected World vector
Damping:
  • Frames it takes to rotate selected game object axis to the selected World vector
     
  • Range:
    • 0 to 100 frames
       
    • 0 = snap game object axis to World vector
Time:
  • Amount of frames for the constraint actuator to remain active
     
  • Range: 
    • 0 to 1000
       
    • 0 = always remain active
Reference Direction:
  • The X, Y and Z components of the Reference world vector
    • X:  Cosine of the angle the vector points in the World X direction
       
    • Y:  Cosine of the angle the vector points in the World Y direction
       
    • Z:  Cosine of the angle the vector points in the World Z direction
  • Range:
    • -2000.00 to 2000.00
Min Angle:
  • Degree of minimum angle
     
  • Orientation constraint isn't applied when the selected game object axis is between min and max angles
Max Angle:
  • Degree of maximum angle
     
  • Orientation constraint isn't applied when the selected game object axis is between min and max angles
Note:
  • World X axis vector = [1.0, 0.0, 0.0]
     
  • World Y axis vector = [0.0, 1.0, 0.0]
     
  • World Z axis vector = [0.0, 0.0, 1.0]
     
  • To use the Orientation Constraint on more than one axis, use another Constraint Actuator

  • Enabled: 
    • Always display the Actuator
  • Disabled: 
    • Only display when the State Mask group the Actuator is linked to is being displayed
Checkbox:
  • Enabled:
    • Actuator is turned on
  • Disabled:
    • Actuator is turned off
Note:
  • Actuators can be connected to more than one controller
     
  • Actuators connected to a controller(s) belong to the same State Mask group(s) as the controller(s)
